    Default VT Engine replacement

    Hi All..

Well, the missus's VT needs an engine replacement due to head gasket going, fair amount of water in the oil, its not pretty...still drivable for the short trips to and from her work (2mins away) but not going to take it much further. It still runs well and doesnt heat up but it needs to be fixed, and an engine replacement will be cheaper and then the gasket fix because it also leaks oil from around the cam pulley by the looks... among other places too..it sump is caked in oil lol,.

ANYWAYS, question is, does anyone know of places in Adelaide they will do the swap and what sort of price? I have heard $1000 is a good price?

    Its the V6 btw.

    Cheers
    Simon

Repco is where we used to arrange our engines from.
    Change over.
Not sure on the price tho.

$1000 is a reasonable price for a drive in - drive out price. It's a little bit on the higher side, but not by much.

Ring a few more wreckers and ask how much for an engine changeover for a VT 6. Best way to get a proper price.
