Default pwr steer fault: pump or idle sensor?

hey, my cars power steering keeps f ucking up whenever engine is both warm and idling, at which time the power steering will not function, im just wondering if it is only because of the seals in the pump (rack is fine) or i should replace the idle sensor, i didnt think that the idle sensor did anything for this but someone mentioned it to me and i guess it makes sense. when engine is above idle power steering is fine, only when at idle.

cheers

Nope, don't think I have ever heard of that one mate.
Perhaps this someone reffered to speed sensitive steering. They have a switch on the rack. Not sure if Berlina ever had that feature. Think only Calais and Statos.
Quite possible your pump is failing. Maybe the check valve is sticking.
Really needs a pressure check to determine.
Could try knocking the check valve on the back of the pump to see if it makes a difference.
Bringing the revs up is making the pump work harder.
