Hi Gang, first post here and like alot of these forums always with a question.
Sorry.
I have been surfing through here trying to find an answer and decided to join up so I could search.
I have a pile of post to search thru so i figure I'll post my question, then begin the search and see if both ways turn up an answer.
VX is due (next week) for 100k service, so she's booked in ready to go.
Yesterday she suddenly developed flat spots and died 4 times on the way to work.
It wants to die at idle and is idling at between 500 and 700 rpm, I think it used to idle around 1000 but not sure.
It kind of surges then wants to die, I can't accelerate too quick to keep revs up or it dies.
It died when I was doing about 80kms and had to slow down fior an idiot who pulled out into my lane and was only doing 60, but that's another story.
I saw him and just took my foot off the accellerator when I got when I changed lanes and got passed him I put my foot down, car surged but managed to stay running.
2 minutes down the track it happened again and died.
Car wouldn't start.
Took about 3 minutes and started, but kept surging then dying.
Does it make any sense to anybody????
It's dual fuel, never had problems before, regularly serviced.
had to changed the battery the other day as it died, was original battery!
6 years, not bad!
Anyway, any help would be great.
Now let me begin to search!
Cheers guys.
OK, here's a heads up.
After some research here, I decided I would stop at Sprint Auto on the way home from work, get new plugs and leads and see if that helps.
Guy at sprints asked the problem said it sound like something that happened to him and he came and had a look.
Turns out one of my radiator hoses has a super small leak, which when driven and under pressure p*sses out coolant.
This in turn has meant a drop in coolant.
Whih meant a return hose that comes past an LPG condensor wasn't getting a great deal of hot water going into it.
Which meant condensor froze, LPG froze, engine starved, car flooded engine tro make up for it.
Surge, stall die.
Topped up with coolant, problem solvered.
Just need the guy doing the service next week, to find the buggered hose and replace.
And flush out crap top up coolant and put in the good stuff.
Problem solvered!
Good to hear it's fixed. You can usually get help on this forum so don't hesitate to come back if you have any more problems.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
