Default Ticking sound from behind dash

The last week or two my commodore VT Berlina wagon has developed an annoying ticking sound that appears to be coming from behind the dashboard to the right of the driver as he is seated. It is like a tick tock, happens around every 5-6 seconds and although it sounds like a car indicator noise, it is not that as the indicators work fine and the noise continues separately even when the indicators are on. Everything appears to be working fine. Any ideas??

Pull your wiper stalk towards yourself until it clicks, just like you would turn off your high beam with the indicator stalk.

Sounds like your intermittant rear wiper relay is clicking, obviously you would have noticed that if your rear wiper was working. Sometimes the rear wiper is just not adjusted properly and it gets stuck underneath the rear window rubber, prolonged abuse of the wiper motor such as this can burn it out, so get your shifter out and re-adjust it if it isn't burnt out already. But it also could be a loose contact to the wiper motor, or it could have just bummed out on it's own.

Let us know how you go.

Cheers
Toa

Hey Toa, you were spot on. I pulled the wiper stalk toward me and the noise stopped. Don't think the wiper is stuck so the motor has probably gone. Well spotted and thanks heaps.
