Just go the correct wheels for mt VT clubby and they are a little scuffed and im wordering which way to go.I prefer powder coating in general but not sure how they go on wheels. Will i get hassles when fitting tyres ETC??
Any ideas would be great as i want to get them on soon.
With powder coating, if it chips it will peel a big chunk off. Paint will only come off at the point of impact. I wouldn't powder coat wheels.
powder coating is much stronger then painting I would powder coat
Not on a wheel though, one scrape and a chunk will peel off rather than just at the point of impact if it was painted.

why dont u get your rims polished. mates rims looked neat highly polished. on another note there should be a bitching thread
PAINT FTW!!!
You would have to be a ****ing idiot to powder coat any external part of a car. Yes powder coating is harder wearing, but it cracks and your left with nothing and it likes to keep breaking off. With paint its very localised and easy to fix up.
Years ago i got my BMX frame powder coated, one slip on a smith grind (i think thats wat its called havent ridden in years) and i chipped some paint, it just kept breaking off till it was completly ****ed, stripped it off and went back to $2 spray cans, and a bike tube over the rear lower fork lol.
Personelly after seeing what happens to a powder coat after its damaged i would never powder coat and external part if you want it to last. I know off-shore they powdercoat none moving parts because of its hard wearing, and really stands up to the hard conditions on a rig especially with the salt water, but they dont do any moving parts, i.e anything that could easily get chipped, for that exact reason, plus they hire full time powder coaters.
I got mine stripped and Painted. $150 a wheel. Came up awesome, gotta becarefull of runs on mags though, I have one run, somtimes they cant help it.
I have mine powder coated, got a chip on 1 or 2 wheels and it hasnt spread anymore than when it happened. Only $50 a wheel too. Bead blasting then powder coating.
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
Im leaning towards painting and im told i can get it done from a panel shop for about $50 a rim.Id prefer powder coating but dont want pieces coming off.I still havnt stripped the old tyres yet(lazy)but i did get some new tyres real cheap.Dunlop sp3000a for $125 each brand new.
