Default boot too heavy to remotely open?

Hi guys. The boot on my XU6 closes when i open it! What i mean is that whne i push the button to open the boot, i hear it click and stuff but then it almost seems the weight of the boot closes it again as i hear it click closed.

if i wanna open it i have to hold my hand on the boot and hold it up so it doesnt close on itself.

any idea how to fix this?

    cheers!

no struts. i think mine has more to do with the latch.

When boots have spoilers on them they tend to wear out the gas struts a lot quicker. They use the same gas struts as the boots without the spoilers and the spoiler as light as it is, is still enough to make a difference. Replacing the gas struts will give that little bit needed to lift the boot when opening as to not re-engage the latch.

Dunno if its any help but they have 2 rubber stops on the underside of the boot in each corner which can be adjusted by screwing them in and out. might be able to put more upwards spring tension on the boot by screwing them out a touch.

spot on although i have got little grommets from supercheap underem just to give that little extra push cause they compact after awhile, although makes it a little extra to close properly
