    Question VX berlina gas question

Hey guys, i'm sure this has been spoken about plenty of times, but i'm going to ask the question again as i can't find any thread on it.

Ok my question is for the people who have a VX or a VX berlina and who is running gas.

For those of you who have the VX with dedicated gas could you please tell me how much it would cost? where do they put the gas tank?

    &

For those of you who have a VX with gas and petrol, could you please advise me on which set up you have, how much it costed?

And the weather you have had problems running a gas set up in the car.

Like i said i'm sure its been spoken about but guys could you please give me some info in regards to it as it would be very much appreciated. And any other type of information you may have to offer me would also be greatly appreciated.

Any photo's of the set up would also be greatly appreciated aswell.
    Thanks
    Jason.

    Hey mate,

I've got a VXII S and a VS Senator on LPG.

The VX is a mixer system. Its been on the car for over 2 years now.
Never looked back since getting it done.
The tank goes in ur boot. So u loose the middle seat access into the boot.
Our tank size is 65L, 55L odd usable.
We get around 320 to 450ks around town, depending on how far each trip is and how its driven.
It cost $3050 to convert, Impco system with a flashlube system.
In the cabin the only way to tell its been converted is the Genuine Holden LPG button.
    Uses the factory gauge.

If u do it, make sure they use the factory system, like mine.
Least u know its a decent system.

Dunnno what else to tell you.
    Any other questions just ask.

IMPCO or AMR systems are the best for Holdens. IMPCO is what Holden usually use, but its not as if its made by Holden. 3 years ago i paid $2100. It shouldn't cost much more 2day. $3050 is too expensive for a mixer type setup, add on $600 and you get urself and injector system. Flashlube, Morey's etc only $70 to get. Leads and plugs are the most important to change. Bosch, Eagle, Top Gun 300's all stainless steel, all essential for good operation. And as i tell all people who ask, don't be a bloody tight arse and ask them to tune it lean, even where you install it, they like to tune it lean so your happy with the mileage, then when it starts backfiring and turning off, you wonder why and take it back, and they retune it. Nice slightly rich tune, safer, no backfires. You getting the gas for cheaper anyway. My install did not remove any factory options, don't let them take off traction control etc they don't need to. If you wanna be a fuel junkie like the Optimax people, your gas alternative is Supagas, 100% Propane, higher octane gas, runs like magic, and pretty cheap as well. Just only open Monday to Friday working hours and Saturday mornings.

Performance wise, High ratio rockers are loved by gas (allows greater volume of mix in), exhaust (go 1/2 1/2, mild steel from cat to half way and the rest stainless for rust resistance), extractors all the usual(go stainless stell or pacemakers with ceramic coating. Air intake is limited by mixer, then again, gas doesn't worry about air all that much as it is very fuel dense. Keep the standard heat range plugs as they are already cold enough, going too cold may cause it to miss when you switch it over to petrol. If it runs fine on the standard gap leave it, otherwise 1.3mm is a good option. Good cams also available. If you wanna go further, a good Turbo setup runs on gas better than anything can, gas turbine, if you surf the threads, its called a marriage made in heaven, Raptor Superchargers have had success with lpg setups apparently, likewise Yella Terra.

Oil will stay cleaner but still needs to be regularly changed from higher acid content which you cannot see from gas combustion. Also cooling system is essential as runs much hotter and if your system doesn't circulate properly, expect your mixer to freeze over.

Thats all i know at this stage....good luck !
