hey guys i was driving to work the other day. bout a 25 minute drive and wen i got there i decided to just do a routine check of the engine bay. i noticed the top radiator hose was not a firm as it usually is and the radiator cap was pritty much stone cold. later on wen the engine was cold i checked the coolant level in the radiator and i noticed the coolant level had gone down. iv been checking for leaks and so far it hasnt leaked a drop. so i just wanted to know if there is anyfin i should b worried bout.
was the bottom hose hot?
could be a stuffed thermostat
not sure bout the bottom hose 4got to check. when i drive it 2moro i will check. i highly doubt its the thermo, it got changed last year. does any1 else have any idea wat it might be.
Unfortunately i would be wurrid bout spellin cos me finks yor a bit of a dill.
mate if you have nothing good to say then stfu. i didnt know i had to spell everything perfectly in this forum as if we were in an exam. wankers like u ruin this forum. btw the problem is solved, been monitoring past few days and everything is back to normal. it might have sounded trivial but im a bit overcautious bout the cooling system in my car as it has played up many times before and has caused a blown head gasket.
Was it air still trapped in the engine when you took your car in and had a radiator coolant flush?
my guess is air trapped, my top radiator hose was cool and my temp gauge was going nuts a few months ago, bled the system and all normal now
I had the exact same problem 2 months ago, somehow air got in the system, thermostat read the 'air pocket' temp says all fine, boiling coolant gets pumped around, thermostat goes nuts. Has a slight leak in one the hoses connected to the heater tap, enough for the coolant to be down 3 litres, even though the resivour indicated it was full,.. Air in radiator not a good thing.
