Default Replacing Tail Lights on a VT

I want to put new tail lights in my VT, the new taillights have the reversing light in the taillight itself like on a VX, the VT has the reversing lights in the reflective strip between and lights, I'm just wondering is there any wiring I'll need to do in order for the lights to work? thanks,
    Dan

Hey Man, the lights would be Altezza, at the moment they are just stock tail lights. Is the wiring job an easy DIY or a professional job? Thanks,

Use some wiring looms out of a vx, will have the extra socket for reverse lights on there.

its pretty DIY.. undo the 2 screws holding each in and push away from the car then disconnect the looms from the old tail lights
    then reverese to fit

I got some pics of the job at hand, the lights ive got only have two plugs, one plugs into the existing wiring in the car the other plug into a black box that the instrustions refer to as a resistance... (the instruction are useless..remove existing lights, replace with new. That kind of thing) the pics show the so called resistance, my existing wiring setup and the plug on the new Altezzas, the pic called Drivers side disconneced the plug in my hand goes straight to the existing taillight and in the pic with resistance connected the plug im holding connects to the existing wiring in the car, any help would be so much appreciated.
Oh, I plugged them in to see what happens and the tail, stop and indicator lights work fine, its just the reverse light that I need help with, thanks.

Got it done! The drivers side worked fine but the passengers side the reverse lights didnt work, I found the wire on the drivers side that powered the reverse light and split it to run to the passengers side and attched it to a new housing that connected to the new tail lights all work fine now and looks sweet with the new white garnish. I'll post some pics once my miss's lets me use her camera again, thanks for the help guys, its appreciated.

I didnt realise the big difference colour coding the garnish would make, its like shes not the same car! definatly a worth while change if your replacing the tail lights.

Wink vx commodore Cruise control install? and ve rims on a vx??

    hey there
i have a vx executive S2 5 SPD with all s pack options except cruise control. it is really ****ing me off but i am still happy i found my dream car. i would like to know from all u ppls if the vx executive would have the wiring and motor already installed for the cruise control? if so.. is it just the indicator lever that i have to change or do i need to do more?

also, i hate my rims, they are holden optional ones, i think they came out on the vt calais. anyway, i hate them and mum and dad have a ve ssv and they are gonna buy new rims. now i think that the ve has a bigger hub than the vx .. so i am wondering if the ve ssv rims would fit (and be legal) on my vx??
    any help would be appreciated.

p.s. its my first car and i am doing it up to be close to show condition. bought it from the first owner with 140,000 kms, he was a mechanic and it was a family car. i love it and i have spend a few grand up to date. i spent it on stereo (the subs actually blew the microphone in my phone the other day, i was ****ed off), new black LED altezza tail lights and head lights with new blue parker bulbs, new chrome door handles, dark window tint. etc.

thanks guys, here is a couple fotos of it now, if u wanna c the whole car go to: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3194045

    nice car.

Ve has smaller hub, just need to machine the lip of the hub hole to fit VE rims.

PS The blue parkers the cops won't like and will pull you over for.

white led parkers, just the parkers on, no headlights this is how bright they are. surface mount type leds 5 surface mounts per bulb.

flash turned off on phone redish but no flash reflection. bit of flare due to slower shutter speed i guess.

    Default hey again

hey thanks, yeh i talked to a copper mate of mine and the bulbs i have are just legal . i showed him my receipt and they are legal. u said in ur reply that the lights on in ur pic are just the parkers. the parkers are in the teardrop section of the light, so either u pulled my leg or u chenger ur parker lts...? i only have the blue leds for the parkers. the rest are stock bulbs. the blue parkers are 5 LEDS, and u can not see them when on full beam, but on half they look sick as. thanks for the reply on the rims, i got keen and tried the ssv rims on this arvo, they fit but the vx hub is obviosly a smidge bigger. that really sux, do u no how much to get them machined? and where from? thanks

yeh i was actually talking about getting my mum and dads standard ssv rims off their ssv. u know the 5 spoke 19" bitches. they look sik as, but then to make it look decent i would need to lower it and i dunno. thinkin maybe 18"s now instead. i will put a pic up of wat it looks like but i would need to machine them to make perfect fit. umm. yeh sorry abt the comment on the parker lts. i forgot that i have new monaro STYLE head lights, and in mine, the parker is in the teardrop, with the high beam bulbs. soz.
wat rims u think would suit mine anyway?
i think the ssv rims look sik, but i wanna get my ss kit and rims and slow down for a bit. low on funds atm
