if so was it worth it?

That is not a shift kit IMO. It changes the resistance in the signal going to the line pressure solenoid. Might not do damage but it isn't a kit all the same.

To add to the last post, a hard parts shift kit removes pfysical restrictions in the tranny and adds more efficient, reliable parts to it as well. If you only up the line pressure without increasing the port size of some major galleries the pressure could reach a point where it encounters restriction and increases heat.

These things are useless. Had one in my vt. Only shifts hard when you are going very slow.
