Can someone please help me out, hubbys purchased cruise control for our auto vt. We want to install it but am not sure how. Its a genuine one and all that. We have a manual but as usual what we are after isnt in there.
thanks
What type of car do you have?
Is it a vt or vx commodore, and what series? 1 or 2?
Even the model will influence the answer to this question, IS it a berlina or exec? It will dome down to the BCM, which you can check on the type by having a look under the steering wheel. You can check where the BCM is locate in your manual.
All level BCMs will support cruise control, so I think it is really only a matter of plugging in the module, connecting the cable and installing a new indicator stalk (one with cruise control buttons). Maybe a fuse is necessary, I'm not sure.

*bump* i'm curious for this answer aswell. i'd love some cruise control on my 98 exec ...
then that little switch to disengage it behind the brake half way up forget the name. you have the plug there for it all ready. look up and you will see you have one for the brakes already maybe an inch higher than that. if this is not fitted the cruise control will not work, found out the hard way
hope this helps

I'll look for this switch tonight. If I find it, I'll take a photo to show others (may help!)
