Default car shudders while driving and taking off

I just had my car serviced and tuned yesterday and my car was running fine, got it back and now whenever i drive or accelerate my car just shudders and kind of pulls back what is the cause of this? the only time it happened previously was when i start the car to take off but now its always doing it. The mechanic said it was the injectors but like i said its gotten worse ever since i got my car back.

    thanks

I just recently had this happen to me.!

I just had a 130,000K service, but also my Engine Mounts too ...
Got the car back, & soon afterwards, I get this spluttering on acceleration.??
I thought it might have be Dirty Fuel, or my Rear Exhaust, because it needed it.!!

Turns out 4 me ... I thought I'd check the Spark-Plug Leads, Top & Bottom.!!
2 of them weren't *clicked in properly*, and another 2 weren't quite in either.?? - Now all is sweet.!! - Lucky Me.!!

Don't wish to hijack this thread... but is it possible to run your car on fewer cylinders by unplugging spark plug leads or removing spark plugs?... is it safe?

No you can't. Just unplug one lead and it will run like a bag of poo.
The new cars that are able to run on less cylinders are designed for that, commodores aren't.

im assuming ur car is a v6, in that case there is a section on the top of the engine at the right. The coils/DFI module. Its black and has 3 raised up sections; these are the coils, on top of these there should be 6 leads (high tension cables/spark leads) with 3 running to each side of the engine. Where they connect into the engine/heads are the spark plugs

I'm really hoping your taking the p*ss...

It would be like having 2 cylinders miss firing... the car would be undrivable, the engine wouldn't even run I don't think...

Nah it would run, ive had cars run down to 1 cylinder, but 6's generally wont get down that low, but it will go to 2 cylinders at idle. BUT you will not save petrol, the car is still pumping fuel in the bore for it to combust, and the other cylinders have to work hard to make the same power, so you would infact use more petrol.
My paddock bomb blew a head gasket, and had very low compression on cylinders 1 & 2 (its a 3 cyl engine) and it started using alot more petrol after that. On 1 cylinder it only got about 550k's a tank, lol a 34 litre tank.

Take it back to the mechanics and get it fixed, and don't pay extra. It's most likely they've cracked a spark plug or a lead, the leads are tricky to get on. Either way, if it wasn't doing it when you dropped it off, then it's likely something they've done.

    Let us know what happens.
