Hey guys ive decided that these are the wheels i want for my ride but i know they wont fit straight on or something. I know they need to be machined ( what does is it consist of) and roughly what price to get them done. Or is it just better to get the copys for the reason they are cheaper. I really want genuines but will getting them re machined lessen their strength.
What do you guys think??
Fakes

I don't see any difference. Why do they need to be machined?
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
genuine ve wheels need the hub machined out to fit on older commodores. as were the fake ones are made to fit the older models. i think its about 50 a wheel to have them machined out

I'd spend the extra for peace of mind and get genuines, not copies that will break when you hit a pot hole![]()
Just make sure that the wheel and tyre size match the info on the tyre placard for your model vehicle otherwise you'll get defected. Only way around it would be to get any size change engineer approved. Might pay to do some homework on the subject before you outlay any money.
Yeh thanks guys. Might just go for the genuine ve wheels. Ive already changed my tyre placard to a 18inch one. That might get me out of trouble. But im soon to be going ssl in the rear. Guess im gunna have to watch out and not get cannaried.
ive got 20's on my vz, and my tyre placard says 17's. and if been pulled over and had it checked and they say its legal. so ur right with one that says 18's. i love these wheels. i have them on my vz. i also had ve gts's on it. but the supersports look far better. good choice
20" inch or 20'foot!!!
20' feet rims would be a laugh!!!
P.S. sorry I had too! Lol!
Shut up when I'm talkin' to you, you hear me, answer me!
lol yeh just read over thread. Whooops ;p
It is highly illegal to change your tyre placard, the same fines/charges apply as if you were to change the VIN or any other ID plate on your vehicle.
It doesnt matter what size rim you have, the law states you must stay within 15mm overall rolling diameter.
So you've changed your placard for no reason other than to put yourself at risk of prosecution.![]()
The 2 inch rule only applies to S.A
Are these the copy rims that have a life time warranty?.

ARE 20s ON A VX UN ROADWORTHY.
i have vess 19s on mine
This is a myth...
There is no such rule anywhere in Australia - (hasn't been for ~10years)
Insurance companies on the other hand may not insure anything over +2 but that is between you and the insurance company to sort out. It is perfectly legal to run a 20" tyre on a Commodore (VE or pre VE) provided the rolling diameter and load index are within the specified allowance.
The wheels are sweet, and sit nice on SSL in the back, mine has sl in the front as well. No legal probs either.
Hey guys hate to ask the random question but would these be defective because on my next VX I've decided to have these rims, but my goal is to keep everything legal.
