Default tighten mounting bolts with the vehicle at normal ride height??

I just got some bushes for the rear of the radius rod. On the packet it says "always tighten mounting bolts with the vehicle at normal ride height".

What exactly are the mounting bolts? I hope this isn't too dumb of a question... Cheers!

I think it means 'mounting nuts' in the case of VT .

The reason for tightening them at ride height is that the (rubber) bushes are clamped to the radius rod and pressed into the lower control arm and during suspension travel must twist. If they are clamped in place with the suspension drooped (no load) the bushes will already be twisted at normal ride height and tear when the suspension is compressed over bumps.

Okay, so what are the mounting nuts? (silly question again...?).

What do they attach to what? I think I'm right with the main steering/suspension components.

Thanks mate

The nuts I was referring to are those on either end of the radius rod. If you had to remove the bolt from the inner end of the lower control arm, the ride height requirement would apply there too.

(We are talking about the front suspension, right? With a nut and washers on the front end of the radius rod in the subframe under the engine, another nut and washers on the other end of the radius rod into the lower control arm and a nut, bolt and washers on the inner end of the lower control arm in the sub frame.)
