Hay Guys,
I am loving my VX but it has one stupid but very very very!!! Annoying problem
The Drivers Side Door does not unlock when I hit the button on the key it pops up about half way and stays there you have to put the Key in the door and turn it the rest of the way
It goes in and out but has not popped up all the way in about a week and I nearly ripped the door handle off today as I forgot it did not unlock
Any ideas this is doing my head in
Many Thanks
Chris
if the factory central locking is the same as after market one
then its prolly just a screw that has come loose the connects the actuator to the lock and not pushing it far enough
pop off your door trim and have a look see
I Really Don't want to have to pull the door trim off how hard is it?
My mate is a Mechenic and he said it could be the rain does that sound like BS?
You could try removing the snippet button and spraying some lubricant down there. Make sure you have you window up so you don't spray it all over the glass.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
the lock actuator is faulty, get it replaced, the rain could well be causing it but it will eventually fail completely
the doortrim needs to come off to replace it.

Thanks for the Feed back guys,
Do you know where you could pick up an Actuator?
Also I am not the most mechanically minded guy so how hard would it be to put a new one in?
Thanks heaps
You could get one from the wreckers or new from Holden, also places like Repco might have them. Not too difficult to replace. The hardest part is removing the door trim which is easy once you know how.
A Gregory's repair manual is a good investment for about $40 and it will guide you through the process. It will cost you more than $40 to have someone do it for you.

had the same prob on mine bud...got sum silicone lubricant sprayed it round the lock part that pops up and then put the key in the door and lockd and then opend it a few times and now works fine...if i doesnt free up at first spray more lubricant round it and open and lock it a few more times it should be all gud
cheers

My VR is a long way from your vx, but the rain does wreak havok on my central locking. With all this wet weather the last few days, i havnt been able to use the central locking for a few days now. i have to manually lock each door, as you never know which one is going to decide not to lock, if any of them and just leave you standing there like a doof with your indicators flashing as you push the button in hope "it will work this time".
Thanks Guys
I am gonna wait for it to stop raning and see what happens will try the silicone lubricant and if all else faile get a new one
Cheers,
lubing it will get you nowhere, the moisture gets inside the actuator, spraying lube down the snib hole will just make a mess
It Stopped Raining for a While and now it works again Go Figure!
