Shoo the kitty

Where I work, I get my own personal parking space in the basement. There's this black cat who always sleeps on my car's hood and the roof. I dont understand why it always chooses to sleep on my car since there are other cars (Mercs, BMW, Lexus) parked alongside. Any no matter where i park, this cat always seems to 'find' my car and sleep on it. Rain or shine.

I wouldnt bother about this cat until my recently installed alarm triggers off 2-3 times a day from this cat. My alarm has a motion detector. Plus there are scratches and bits of fur. I dont want to harm this cat (She's a stray)

Any ideas to make this cat sleep somewhere else? I thought of using a car cover but its not the ideal way to get to work. Sorry if this sounds trivial, but running down to the basement to shut off the alarm is getting bothersome.

Catch/trap her and take her to the local pound, some will even come and collect her. Then they will put her down HUMAINLY.

Cats hate citrus fruit so put some orange or lemon peel on your bonnet /roof to deter it .

maybe you could try spraying the 'opposite' of catnip somewhere on your car...? I think they have sprays that are supposed to deter cats..

Putting it in a Jar lid, placed near your car, works perfectly fine.

either pick it up and turn it in, or phone the pound and they will do it for you if you like it so much, take it home......

And your happy to admit to animal cruelty, regardless of being feral, you can cop a nice fine for that. Feral cats are a big pain in the ass, but it aint the cats fault some dumb ass dole bludger decided to get their kid a pet and couldn't afford to feed it or desex it.

You could try a ultrasonic alarm, you can hear it but the cat can, maybe chucking one on your bonnet may help, not sure weather or not you want to spend much. There is a link below, you can get them at some other places too, try your local pet shop or garden center.

And your happy to admit to animal cruelty, regardless of being feral, you can cop a nice fine for that. Feral cats are a big pain in the ass, but it aint the cats fault some dumb ass dole bludger decided to get their kid a pet and couldn't afford to feed it or desex it.

Yeah if all else fails. There are heaps of things ppl say cats don't like, eg: citrus, although my cat often sleeps in out lemon tree? Anyways, I know the ultrasonic things work quite well and you can get them for varied prices, so if the OP has any problems with cats on his car at home too might be worth it.

Sorry for the late reply guys and gals. There's a sad ending to this tale. Someone ran over the cat last Sunday. One of the cleaners reported that they found a black cat run over. She was pregnant.

I doubt it was deliberate. Cats choose the stupidest places to sleep.
My neighbors cat was killed because it chose to sleep on top of the wheel. They drove off as normal and the cat didn't have time to get out of the way.

Yes im happy 2 admit it they r a pest. back home they were worse every now n then we were called in 2 go shoot em. Not all ferals come from an owner that couldnt afford 2 keep it ect... they do breed themselves now whos fault is that?
