Default Trip computer fuel figures for V6 S/C

Ok, this is only going to apply to those of you with a V6 S/C with a tripple window dash, but if there is any of you out there, can you help out with a few fuel useage figures? (ie, instant use)

Just got myself one of these beasts, S/C V6 VT Calais, and well, its fuel use seems a TAD on the high side .. I understand when i foot to floor its going to drink, but even the slightest touch on the right pedal and it shoots up to 35-40l100, and this is before it even gets to 30kmh .. as soon as you lift off and let it cruise/roll, it drops instantly to 3-4l/100, which is very good (my VS Calais in this situation still used 6-7L/100) but i'm thinking something is a little sus .. Any suggestions? Going up a hill when you have to put a bit extra pedal into it shows instant use figures up to 50L/100, and still only doing 60kmh .. Doesn't seem quite right to me ..

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't have the triple window type, but I have put our S/C VX dash into instant display mode. The scenario you describe is exactly the same as my display indicates when I'm driving.

Don't be too stressed over it. It's just an instant readout of what the engine is doing.

To put the single screen version into instant,
    1. With ignition off, press mode switch and up arrow together and hold down
    2. Turn ignition on & start engine
    3. Release buttons
    4. Use up arrow button to scroll through features

I'm more alarmed by the DTE readings, expecting 450km/tank, mostly city driving with probably about 80km so far of unintterupted 100kmh driving .. i'd have expected a tad more than that from 75l.. Just using the instant figures as a guide .. obviously a regular occurance of higher instant figures is going to mean its over all using more fuel ..
It'll be due for its 160,000km service soon, think i'll bite the bullet and take it to holden, and get em to run a tech2 over it while its there ..

450km-550km ish is about right around town. It just depends on how much stop start driving you do and the speed zones involved. Setting the Cruise control at 80km/h in 4th gear in the auto is actually worse than driving by your foot on the accellerator, because the S/C engine's computer unlocks the Torque Converter at this speed.

Look through the service book and look at what is due for the 160k service. I do spark plugs every 10,000km and have always run quality Top Gun Ignition Leads fitted. At $65-$75 for a S/C V6 set from places like Repco & Autobarn, they are cheaper than the crappy standard Holden ones!!

On a trip, I can drive up the Newell from Melbourne to Brisbane with 1 fuel stop in Dubbo. You need to set the cruise control at 102 km/h to do it, but by going a little slower, you save time by not having to stop for fuel twice.
