Default Drivers side front wheel moved forward

Had an accident the other day while reversing out of a parking space and happened to hit a bollard, didn't do any panel damage, but the wheel rim took the hit and now the wheel is set forward about an inch more than it should be, and now occasionally when turning sharp left it rubs against the inside arch, there seems to be no difference with driving, the steering wheel doesn't vibrate or pull off to the side, just wondering what i may have damaged and what i need to get it fixed?

You may have damaged or bent the control arm, radius rod or associated bushes. The wheel alignment would be out for sure. Have a look and see if you can see any damage, or take it to a suspension place.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

That will be your lower control arm (also known as Casator Rod). More than likely the castor rod bush at the front where it joins the K Frame will have popped. It is an oil filled bush.

Thanks for the info accentstencil and chargedvx6, will be taking a good look underneath the car tomorrow and getting a suspension place to give a quote on what needs to be fixed up, will post some pics on here if i can see any damage, its probably a good excuse for me to get the rest of the bushes done too as there are a few rattles and knocks... thanks again..Cheers!

If it does end up being the radius rod bush in the K Frame I would recommend getting a set of Noltec adjustables fitted. $145 supplied and fairly easy to fit. These are a solid bush and give better castor control under brakes.

Today had a good look under the car and could see that the control arm (pretty sure thats the one) was moved forward, could only tell by referring to the other wheel, but its definitely moved forward...

sent an email to pedders in Frankston, they said to bring it down for a 28 point suspension check, so it going down there Wednesday...

would anyone know what sorta price I'd be up for with new springs, shocks, bushes all round, control arms both sides? I think the steering rack is on the way out too. ...be gentle, I'm not made out of money!

cant really see much in this pic but i think the control arm is the thing going vertical, towards the center right of the wheel.

I done the same thing... took it to two different places... they recommended adjustable radius rod bushes to fix the prob... i believe my K-Frame is a little out of wack...
