    hey all,

today was driving the vt and it overheated, the car started beeping and i turned it off, the thermos stayed on to cool it down and so i let it cool for a couple of hours then took it home and filled the radiator back up.

was watching the temp and it went up to 100 degrees but the thermos wern't turning on what do i do?

Possibly your thermostat has failed to open. Replace the thermostat I'd say. If the problem still occurs, have your water pump looked at.

thermos dont turn on till 104o so thats why they didnt turn on
now and then its a common prob with vts the neddle rises heaps high and bells and whistles go off but its not really over heating
keep an eye on it over next few days you might be fine
if it does over heat youll know about it and yes thernostat may need changing or radiator needs flushing/cleaning
    good luck

First, take the car for a drive and try to get it to heat up. Immediately turn off the car, open the bonnet and then squeeze the top hose. If you can squeeze it, it's not building pressure.

If you can keep your hand on it, it's not hot enough. Feel the temperature of the top and bottom hoses, if there's a difference, it's your thermostat or possibly waterpump.

Might also be a good time to bleed the system, but do the above first and tell me how you went.

Cooling system problems are usually the easiest ones to solve.

im guessing it may be the water pump as ive just put new radiator, thermostat and hoses a couple months ago but ill go through it all again.

was thinking about doing a flush soon anyway and lol was a couple of degrees away from thermos turning on
