    Exclamation CAI Install Help

    Hay Guys,

Brought a CAI from The below

Type-S Cold Air Intake Kit for V6 Commodore - The Most Comprehensive and Best Performing Cold Air Intake kit for V6 Ecotec and Supercharged V6 VT, VX and VY Models

Instructions are pretty easy until it gets to Splicing open the Wiring Harness for Maf Sensor and ATS

What I have to do is splice open the wiring harness that includes the MAF Sensor, AT Sensor and the AC Control Switch. Separate the Maf Sensor form the AC Connector Wires and the AT Sensor Wires, then tape them up with elec tape and plug them into their respective locations

With this do you guys know which colour is it MAF Wire is as well as the other ones?

Will I know when I look at it making this a stupid Question?

    Any advise would be great

    Cheers,

what your doing is unwrapping the loom to free up some wire length to relocate the maf. just unwrap the loom where the maf wires go into the main section of the look untill there is enough free cable to fit the maf in it's new location (allow a little slack for flexing) then tape it all up again to make it look tidy. the actaul colours aren't important

I was a sucker for this product back years ago when i first baught my vx lol, what i found to be the main thing wrong, was that the downpipe of the intake was about 2" too short of being 100% effective as a ram... as it was sitting behind the splash guard under the front bumper. if you go to bunnings/reece ect. pick yourself up a bit of 65mm pipe (like 10cm they might let u have it for free!) with a female flange on one end, and also a 65mm 45* elbow. cut back the orig FIT pipe 1", fit the extention and elbow on... there ya go all fixxed

if you really cant be assed cutting back a bit of the original FIT downpipe so the elbow sill sit snug on the splash guard, just slip the 45 over the end and it will most likely be about 1/2 covered by the splash guard

Best Cold Air Intake for VT-VY Series

    4-9kW More Power
    8-15Nm More Torque
dont be so fooled by these numbers... a bit overrated?
