    Question accessory belts,waterpump

Hi all I'm new to this , I brought a waterpump for my vt 5.0 1998 and found that it wasn't the right one, this happened after I had already fitted the new one on my car...lol anyway I put the old waterpump back on and also replaced the old belts with new ones. I then started the car which run for atleast a minute or so then died out. Started it again and the same thing happened. Could it be that the belts are too tight? can someone please help me or does anybody have any ideas?

The belts being too tight would not make it cut out after running so its not the belts.......

I would be looking around where you were working to see if you have knocked a plug or sensor wiring off something like that.....

dont really need to be familiar with the engine just have a look and see if you can see any plugs that look like they should be on... if you see a plug not plugged in look around that area and then see if the plug matches and plug it back in

Also wouldnt hurt to check all fuses like fuel pump or igtion fuse somethinglike that.....
