code errors

hey everyone

The engine light on my vt commodore exec came on today about a 1 min after starting, I turned the car off and then started again and the engine light went off and stayed off. I done a code check and got 92 and 42 is this somthing i should be worried about. oh by the way i changed plugs leads and replaced the heater tap before this happened.

Hiya,

92 = low speed fan problem. This is really common, the last time I got it, I just took out the relay (in the engine bay) and reseated it and the error went away.

42 = Ignition bypass circuit problem. Unsure on this. It could be related to the work you were doing in the engine bay.

Does the car run OK when it starts? Has it happened since?

Yeah it runs fine even when the light was on it was running fine it has only happend once

Well, if it's no longer an issue, then probably not worth worrying about, these cars can do funny things sometimes. It might be worth clearing the error codes and then check them again in a week or so.
