diagnosis

Hi all can somebody help me with this problem. I changed the normal accessory belts on my vt 1998 5.0 ltr, and the car started and run for 30seconds or so and then cut out. I then started it again and the same thing happened. I dont know if I knocked any wires or sensors but if I was able to get a diagnostic on it would it tell me whats wrong or does anyone have any ideas on what I might have done.Originally I was changing the waterpump but found that it was the wrong one, so I had to put the old one back on to keep me on the road till I get another one. but its not really starting..at the moment it sits in my garage waiting for me to come up with something..lol..can somebody help?

Have you checked error codes, if not do a search on how to if you dont know how, and it may give you a clue
