does anyone know what problem with my car vt 97
When I fill my fuel tank and it's full, the needle goes up, but when my petrol runs out the needle still points up like my fuel tank is full. How come it is like that? Does anyone know what is the problem and does anyone know how to fix it so it is right?
    thank you

I forgot to say something, as i turn off my engine the needle goes down. So I don't think that the needle could be stuck because if it's stuck the needle should point up all the time even when I turn off my engine.

dicky fuel level guage in the fuel tank.

the fuel level guage in the tank is read by your bcm which then translate that across to your fuel guage on your dash. If your fuel level guage in the tank is stuck or stuffed at full, your fuel guage on your dash will always read full. The needle drops when you turn your ignition key off because that just switches off that part of the bcm circuit driving your fuel gauge needle on your dash.

Have someone take a look at your fuel gauge in your fuel tank.
