    Default VX S`2 Fog Lights

    Hey Everyone.
Iv got a VX 02 Series 2, and am looking at putting in foglights. After looking at the front skirt i can see part of the wiring loom to hook it up. Does anybody know if this loom continues on into the dash on this particualr series? After spkn to holden, they said they would need the car for an hr $ to see if the loom is there.

Ther've quoted me $364 for the foglights, harness, switch and relay or i can get just the lights for $135 + GST . Does this sound bout right?

    Cheers for your help

Pretty sure the wiring is all there. Should just need a switch, relay and lights.

If Holden is selling you the lights for $150, that's a steal. You need the relay, in dash switch and switch bezel which should come to $60 on top of the lights. The loom goes to the chassis rails and is taped up. The plugs are about 2cm X 4cm X .5cm.

Holden quoted me $500 for the supply and install, so your deal sounds better.

i turns out it was $150 per light. Thought that was too cheap, but im searching the rekers for a deal.

Another question. I was thinking i would put in a VY light control nob in place of the old 1 as it has the fog light switch built in, but are the wiring looms the same and compatiable? It's $11 more than the stnd fog light switch, and it would create a more cleaner finish..

Correct me if im wrong as im not 100% but the VY light switch has the foglight and the normal lights on the one switch while the VX has the foglight switch seperate thus the wiring loom would not fit.

Though I THINK if what I have said above is true... you could potentially be able to modify the looms to work with a VY switch...

But as i said... not 100% on this

yea your right, it does have a combined switch as oposed to the VX. So where do you possibly think i could find a loom that could fit it?

I don't think you can find a "loom" to fit the switch unless you replaced the VX loom would would be a MASSIVE job... like major pain in the butt!

BUT, the wiring should be fairly similar SO if you had the plastic connector that plugs into the VY switch and wiring diagrams for both looms you could technically modify the VX loom into the VY connector and then your apples...

As to how difficult this would be I'm not sure... holden wire colors are pretty standard so with a diagram showing which wire is what in the connector its doable i would say.

Though this is specualtion on my part as I haven't done a modification to the loom like this myself.

    Sorry I can't help more

I would be tipping that the VY swithch might just incorporate both plugs from the VX loom. Easy way to find out is go and buy the VY switch, compare it to the VX one and if it can't be done get a credit from Holden.

Holden have just confirmed that they are not compatiable. They said the wiring and dash would need to be rectified. O well, back to the switch i guess

    Cheers for ya help
