Blinker Problem

Hi I have a 2000 VT Commodore Olympic Edition Sedan. My blinkers no longer flash they just stay solid when on. I brought a new blinker stalk on Ebay and installed the new stalk but the same problem is stil occuring - any ideas? Do I need an auto electrician to look at the wiring??

It is probably a faulty flasher unit. You will find it in the fuse panel under the steering column.
