    Cool Bloody Radiator

    Hey

Recently went to Canberra and was a great drive, on my way home at the petrol station i notice a slight leak of coolant. Just topped it up maybe 1 litre

Anyways got home safe and sound with no probs and this morning two day later my commo looses most of its water took about 5+ litres on a 25min drive, didnt over heat but lost a fair bit of water/coolant. There are no leaks in water pump, radiator hoses or heater hoses. Seems to be ****ing out from the front of the radiator between the bump and front side.

My question is can these be repaired or should i just buy a new one? I was looking on ebay and they are about $180 which isnt too bad....

    thanks in advance

The end tanks can't be repaired, nit sure about the main area. I would replace it if it is faulty. For the money you can't go wrong.

The plastic tanks split generaly on the drivers side (hot side)
A new tank can be fitted by a radiator repair shop, as I had done when my tank split, they charged me $130, ripped me off!, then I found out that I could have bought a NEW radiator for $170.

Definitely go a new radiator. Shop around for quotes, but don't bother repairing your one. Unless they give you a 3 or 5 year guarantee and do it for peanuts.

When you replace it make sure you use a coolant that meets the Holden specification for the V6 engine. Using the wrong coolant can shorten the life of you new radiator. I found Tectaloy V Plus to be very good.
