    Waste of money.

Just run a bit of the new oil through the engine and out the sump. You'll see it begin to clean up a bit. The so called flushes are just diesel, you can add 500ml of diesel into your engine oil to thin it out a bit if you want I guess.

I doubt it'd do too much though. Just keep your oil regularly changed and you'll be fine.

Yeah as said above, no need to go out and flush it. just pour clean oil and run it until its coming out clean out the oil sump.

is there any easy way to take off the sump and give it a clean, aswell as the oil pickup? ive head u have to take off the powersteering rack to get access to the rear bolts of the sump?

The sump only comes off if you've got a leak or something. It's not something people do on a regular basis.

I'd have to look under my car to see, but just drop all of the bolts and you might be able to manouvre it out. If you decide to do this, I would recommend changing your sump gasket.

The alternative to that would be to change your oil, run it with the new oil for a few days and change it again. This should ensure a lot of the sludge gets out of the system.

Taking off the whole sump is just too much work, for seemingly nothing.

Chargedvt, what are you trying to achieve?
Just drain the sump of the old oil, change the filter and pour in the new oil and away you go!
You are not going to notice any better running of the engine by washing out the sump, if you do, it will only be a 'placebo' effect.

if its not a sludged up high kilometre motor, a flush is quite a good choice, do the flush, fill up with quaility oil then add an oil additive if the valvetrain is noisy.

my car on startup has oil pressure troubles(light flickers on once or twice a second after other lights disappear, a few people ive talked to have suggested a blocked pickup in the sump. ive already replaced oil pressure switch, only really started happening after i got the injectors reco'd
