everybody who own's a VX know's the drama of deteching/breaking seat moulding.
well a simple solution is where the front of the moulding seperates from the seat, the eye tab where the screw goes tend's to break, using a 1mm cord less drill.
drilling a small hole on that remaning tounge while keeping plenty of space,
simply insert a "carby return spring" into the hole, and streech enough to make taunt secure to a hole in frame.
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

Thats a good idea. Both of mine broke and what i did was basically the same but i drilled a litte hole in the side of a washer and screwd it to the little plastic bit. Prob solved aswell.

is this on the VT calais too?
i've got ones with electric seat controls, and years ago my bro fixed it for my dad, as it busted off, not a 100 perfect fix but its all good. However when you lower the seats to lowest position it sometimes clunks on the plastic

so basically it will bounce around cos its not fixed in tightly only just a spring that allows the side mould to move around?
still would be better to have a rigid fix as opposed to the spring.
but anyways good work in finding a fix!
