hey all i cant seem to find the offset for my wh, ive searched all through vt/x threads and faq's but with no luck... i wanna order a new set of rims but they come in either rev offset... std offset... or fwd offset...
anyone know which one would suit?
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
You could measure the offset using the spare yourself; centre of tyre tread up, using one plastic rule, across to the wheel mounting face and down with another two rules (or a straightedge; timber etc. if the horizontal rule isn't long enough). Two sets of hands required or rest the straight edge across the wheel on the tyre sidewall and use that as a reference. The difference in the two vertical measurements is the offset. It should be 43mm (positive).
Some wheel places seem to think that what matters is backspacing. In terms of clearance, it does, but maintaining the backspace with a wider rim changes the offset and wheel track, so the offset is what needs to be maintained. A couple of mm's can be significant (felt while driving) especially with wide tyres/wheels.
