Default How to remove fuel filter clips?

    Hi all,

Based on this thread in the VZ forum:

does anyone know how to to remove the clips on each side of the filter on a VT ?

There's no green clips like the VZ and the clips on mine didn't come off easily. I wasn't going to stuff with it being a fuel line as I won't be able to drive the car if it breaks.

I heard there is a special too you can buy from Repco (about 10 bucks) to remove the clips safely ???

    Thanks heaps !

Push the clips towards the filter, squeeze the two tangs on the clip and then pull. Some effort may be required if they haven't been removed for some time.
Don't forget to reduce the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay, then start the car and let it stall and then crank it over for a few more seconds.

if u dont wanna buy the tool...i had no choice cos they had no stock at all the places n repco had no idea what i was talking about n said theres green clips on all (not true)

Get a icecream container and cut a long strip and form a circle to go around the fuel line (keep triming it to get it the right size) then slide it under the metal lip and if u push it in far enuf it unclips the line when u go to pull on it.

That was what i did for the fuel line where it comes into the engine bay, sounds like its the same tho

The clips on the fuel filter lines are different from the ones in the engine bay, no special tool required.
