Short shocks dont alter the height of the car, they will just keep the springs trapped

The reason it scrapes is because it has super lows. If the shocks were stuffed that are on it now, it will improve the handling, but as Wagon_wheel said, shortened shocks only trap the springs, they don't affect the height. Being IRS though, new shocks will lift it a tiny bit if the old ones are stuffed.

Want to get rid of the scraping? Raise the car.
It only scrapes because it is so low.
You can either have a low car that looks good, but can be a pain to drive, or a standard height (or only a bit low) that you could drive normally in

Yeah it'll make it a bit stiffer and it will double the life of the shocks.

I had a similar issue with my VS. The standard shocks are too soft and when the front goes over a speed bump the shocks compress heaps causing the car to dip lower than its standard height and hit the bump. Proper shortened shocks are stiff and will stop the car dipping after a bump therefore reduce the amount of times you scrape.

When i did the VP's rear shocks i noticed the Pedders Short shocks were shorter then the monroe ones, IT raised the bum,
Which leads me to ask, From standard height shocks to short ones, Why doesn't it drop the rear a touch?.

Part of my RWC i have to fit Short shocks to my rear to trap the Springs, Not that it's to low anyway.

It is IRS yes? Putting new shocks of any kind would have raised it.

Won't raise it on the front, it only does it on the rear for some reason.

I do the Ultima struts for the VT's for $95 each if you're interested. Rears are $48 each.

Fronts are the ones that you don't really need. It's highly unlikely that your fronts will ever fall out.

The rears will fall out, if anything. NAAF sounds like he's giving a pretty good deal.

I would get both the front and rears. The car will handle better and you wont have any issues with em falling out or being too soft.

Hey guys, this thread got me thinking about the shocks in my stato. They are KYB's and feel like they're made of stone. Me being pretty inexperienced with suspension I was wondering if that might mean that the shocks are worn or are they just crap?
