    Default larger brakes

    so my brakes need doing , but as im slowly doing mods to the car rather than just replaceing the standard brakes i was thinking of upgrading to larger discs and calipers . has anyone done this and what problems my i encounter ? my car is a 97 VT . cheers .

    What sort of driving are you doing? If it is just day to day, there really is no point updgrading caliper or disc size. Upgrade rotors and run better pads and leave it at that.

    I know PBR do an upgrade kit, then there are mobs like Cebco, PWR etc etc... Depends on what you want and ultimately, your budget.

    Slotted rotors and decent pads are all you really need.

    im not only looking for the stopping power but my mags are quite open and it looks kind of funny with the smaller discs , is there any thing i can do about that ?

    Um change your mags?

    Craig is doing his today, Slotted/Drilled rotors & Police Spec Brakes, fixed up a little with some caliper paint. I recon it will look pretty nice.

    I got some 343mmx32mm fronts and 315mmx28mm rears. They're to suit VT onwards (I had to use hub adaptors) so perhaps look for something similar to what I purchased. 343mm definitely fills out 18"+ wheels compared to the standard 296mm VT brakes.

    Can you fit that sized rotors to standard VT / VX Calipers without any modifications?

    You will need an approved bracket to relocate the caliper further out on the radius to clear the larger rotor.
