OK the drivers seat, (vx calais) was bent in an accident, now the left hand side of the backrest is slighly further back than the right hand side of the seat, so its on a slight tilt, is there any way to fix this??
The frame can be bent back into shape - but may not look good doing it.
You can take the seat out & pull it apart (I've done it to the VN seats twice) and knock it around (so that you dont damage the cloth)
OR
Cover the seat with old towls/rags and use a large bit of padded 4B2.

Self adjusting VN seats are best fixed with the cable tie (in an old thread)
The seats are all tied together with high tensile wire split rings about 10mm in diam. The rings open up and get pulled out with a good set of pointy plyers and put to one side. Then the zig zagy wire bits slide out.
I pulled the seats apart to recover with the Calais cloth on a good frane (non self adjusting) Took a few hours and the biggest bit of the puzzle was the lumbar knob - just would not come off and so I hacked it off/busted it. Used the one of the new seat to fix it. Also fixed the lumbar support frame while it was apart as the small bit of wire had snapped. The seat new frame was a little different from the Calais frame but had to be better than the self reclining units in the car.
Also now have welded the top half to the bottom half when the mount lug snapped late last year. took some of the cloth off and covered with Hardiflex sheeting while I put a dob of weld on it. Seat is solid as now.![]()
