Tightning Tensioner

Hello everyone

Just replaced the voltage regulater in my VT 5LTR, and to do this I had to drop the alinator down in the bay as the back of it was against the dipstick tube.

I am now trying to retension the pully and am finding it hard to get access to the bolt underneath the tensioner to tighten.

Surely there has to be a better way. Anyone know of one?

You can get at it with a long extension and a ratchet.

When i changed my altinator on my vr 5ltr which i dont think is much different to yours, i simply used a crow bar to pull the alternator out and got the tension that way and tightened it up.
