    Default Cracked Diff Cradle???

Just a quick one, i'm pretty sure i have a cracked diff cradle...i got a mate to reverse the car slowly, and i could actually see the negative camber increasing. has any body else had this problem??? it just so happens that i just got a mini spool put in.

Where would i go to get it fixed???

Any help would be good, Cheers

jack the car up an inspect your irs cradle... Its not as common in cars that are just thrashed, but shifting way too hard and and minispools are not nice for them..

IRS cradles snap, i've done it, a couple times..

Def a common problem. Holden apparently rectified the **** IRS setup in VX somewhere.

Looks like a good price. Might want to get him to send you pictures.

While your there, i'd still weld a plate over the top, if your planning to still drive spiritedly

what i ended up doing to my last one an it lasted til the accident, clean it up with a drill & wire brush before fitting, weld in a plate or 2 on the irs cradle to give it strength..

if the vx s2 will fit, this would be a good buy yeah???? already has the camber kit installed, and is supposed to be stronger than a vt one
I have purchased some bit from this guy(outside of ebay)i trust him as a seller and i found him honest.

just had a feel around the top of the diff and i cant feel anything out of the ordinary, should i be able to notice it easily??? if its not the cradle, what else could it be? the camber seems to get slightly worse when reversing and when i turn corners i get some real bad clunks coming from the rear...
had a look at everything else under the car, nothing seems loose or worn, i'll take it to pedders tomorrow.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to pedders, at all. Your wallet will thank you for it.

Get a decent mechanic, and they'll be able to do whatever is needed to it.

If its only one wheel, and looks like the pics at the bottom, its def. the cradle. You will only be able to feel the crack at the top (roughly in the middle, branching out to the side with crap camber).
They crack right at the top, and on my car i could barely get my hand in there to fell it, would be easier if the car is on a hoist, so your not lying down when trying to reach up. It could be a collapsed spring, but thats very unlikely considering you said it only does it when reversing (which is exactly what mine did). You'll probably also notice the steering wheel is out abit now aswell, whilst accelerating, then straightenes up when rolling.
