Help smoothing vx doors

Hey guys, Im in the process of removing the trim pieces halfway down the doors on my vx, and cleaning the grooves up. My question is weather or not i can fill the grooves to smooth the doors, will they need to be welded? They dont seem very deep so will a quality fibre bog do the job? Doing the job myself but dont want to use bog if it is just going to crack.

if the prep work is top notch i shouldnt see why not. just need a really good contact between the bog and the door. if it doesnt have a good bite, i can see it cracking due to the vibrations through the door when it gets closed.
