    Default Exhaust Tommorrow

I'm getting my exhaust tommorrow, Genie Headers with new High Flow Cat to a 2.5 Redback Exhaust, that's a good set-up right?

Hopefully i'll be getting some pictures of my car up next week as well as a video of my new exhaust and audio system, also there is a winding noise when i accelerate in my car, does anyone know what it could be, i own a VT Commodore Sedan? Much appreciated, Teebs.

The exhaust specialist said something about the cat melting or whatnot after i get the extractors, i not fully up to speed on cars, so he said i'd require a high flow cat, and the pacemakers were about 495 and Genie's were 550, so for a bit extra i decided to go with the Genie's, they told me they can fit the Genie's a bit more cleaner then the pacemakers, none the less, there extracters and thats what i want, getting the high flow cat now would save me from buying it later on though.

no it wont melt. he would only say that to sell more stuff to you. and pacemakers are better than the genies, so go with them. i doubt youll ever need a high flow cat, unless youre running big boost where you really need the flow, and even then youll upgrade the catback anyway. sounds like the guys trying to get as much money as he can from you. what are you paying for the catback?

im guessing they dont, and by charging you more, he makes more money. 340 for a catback is a bit much too. most are around 200-250

i doubt asking him will do a lot. its not like hes gonna turn around and say, "yeah, i was charging you $100 more than i should have for the catback". he'll just try justify himself, saying thats a standard price for that kind of work, and that you wont find any better. pays to shop around sometimes

I only 3 months ago paid only $245 for catback 2.5' redback. I did however get quotes around the $300 to $320. Ya just gotta shop around champ, i know your all excited etc about getting all this gear tomorrow but this guy seems to be charging a little to much for mine! I'd hold back for a few days and phone around, off course I'm assuming this hasn't already happened. Think of the extra slab's you could get with the savings WIN/WIN in my eyes. Actually forget the exhaust just buy the beer!

    Seriously shop around.

    Cheers, Daz.
