Hi Guys
Im new to this forum and in search of how to Bypass/Override the Immoboliser on a 2000 VT Commodore.
The remote is completely stuffed and smashed to bits and i dont intend on replacing it, i only have the metal part of the key.
When i put the key in switch to ignition i hear the fuel pump, try to start it will crank for a few seconds and wont start, try to crank again but no go.
I have to wait a little while before i can get it to crank again.
The little red light on the trip computer buttons only flashes in single units.
I would prefer to bypass the system completely, i dont care if there is work involved and it dont need it to be pretty as this car is only used as a bush basher on a farm.
Ive seen that alot of people on here that claim they know how to Bypass/Override the system but have not found any info on how to actualy do it.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys
You need to find someone to disable VATS in the ECU's memcal. This is the only way that I know of bypassing it.The ECU needs a signal from the BCM,which gets a signal from the ignition key fob, which then lets the vehicle start..Unless you can emulate this disable signal somehow so the ECU can read it and disable the VATS so it will go,I dont think there is any other way.Ive seen people permanently connect a working keyfob to the key reader wiring so its always disabled. This doesnt help you out though with no working fob..You probably already know this, but you can also bypass the immobiliser by leaving the ignition key in the "on" position for 45 minutes for a series 1 VS,and 120 minutes for a series 2 VS.As soon as you turn the car off again though,it will need to sit for the time again before it will start again.
Thanks Brett.
Its a 2000 model VT, would the override procedure for the VT be the same as the VS ?
45 or 120 minutes ill try both.
Key in ON position as in (ignition) or (ACC) ?
If i just put the key in the ignition and wait 45 or 120 min, will the red flashing light stop when its has been overriden indicating i can then start it ?
I tried last night with 45 min, turned the key and nothing happened, the light was still blinking.
Ignition key in the ON position with the red lights etc lit up on the dash. Not the accessories position.Id say it would be 120 minutes like the late VS's.The red flashing light will stop when its ready to start, just turn the key to start, and start it up once the light is not flashing any more..
Still cant start it.
I left the ignition on for well over 120 min, the red light was still flashing but i decided to give it a go and still wouldnt start, wouldnt even crank.
If i turn the key over from OF to START it will crank for a few seconds but wont start, from ON to Start it wont crank.
I bypassed the starter relay and just bridged the terminals to get the starter cranking to see what was happening, Ive got spark, fuel pump seems to work but no pulse at the injectors.
Any ideas ?
Im guessing the bypass procedure must be different to the VS, ill leave the ignition on overnight to see what happens.
Did you have any luck here?
I too have left my ignition on for well over 2 hours to try and get the thing to start so I can go get another key but the light is still flashing away.
