I'm looking at tyre options for VE SSV 19" rims.
$200 per corner is my budget for brand new tyres.

Looks as though 235/35/19 would be the best for keeping rolling diameter as close as possible to the same as the original 215/55/16 tyres.

Can anyone please reccomend brands of tyres that would fit this budget?

Cheers,

I havent got em yet but i am toying with the idea of getting some
but I fear they will be a really harsh ride cos my car is lowered super lows all round.
Inflated to 36PSI my Pirelli PZero Nero's 235/45/17 are pretty firm and you realise how sh1t the roads are in Melbourne!

Correction: Holmart have got em for $880 wheels only but then u would have to get em machined to suit - does anyone know or can post up pics of how they are machined? and the size differences perhaps?

OK ppls, does anyone on here have Diamond Back brand tyres?
Seems as though they are the brand I'll be getting:
245 / 35 / 19's nice and fat! :)

$200 a corner really limits your options in that sized tyre. Tyres are a very important part of the car, one of the most important aspects of not only handling/cornering and control, but braking also.

I don't know alot about diamond back as a brand, but I'd steer clear of cheap chinese brands. I used to use Bridgestone but they're too expensie for what they offer in the larger tyres. Maxxis make a decent tyre for around the $250 mark in 245/35 R19. Could also look at brands like Kumho and Han**** which i've found to be decent mid range tyres in 19" sizes.

Got the VE SSV's with 245/35/19 Diamondback TR968 tyres!
They look really schmick and suit the car well, really happy with them!
Had to put 3 rims on the back seat and behind drivers seat and one in the boot too.
The extra weight of the rims in the car caused the rear tyres to scrub the guards when going over some bumpy roads. But since taking out the old wheels, it doesnt seem to scrub anymore, thank goodness!
Most of the time its just me in the car so its not like I will have a carload of ppl with me!

Cheers,
