VX Electric windows
Hi I have a vx series 1 executive and am converting it to electric windows, I have the main switch, rear switches ,2 x relays, door looms, and regulators - my question is do the front door looms plug into the main loom behind the foot well kick panels ? I have the plug in the centre console factory fitted and the fuse panel looks to be wired up already is there anything I have missed out ?

The looms plug in behind the rubber boot that goes from the body to the door. Pull the rubber grommet thing on the end of the boot away from the body.
You seem to have everything else covered. Enjoy the windows. You will find yourself reaching for the window winder for some time.

Update time:
All the parts came from a VT acclaim I have found that the plugs from the body to the doors are different grrr (I am only converting the front doors) ok so I have chosen to run my own wires from the body through the door to the window regulators no worries there.
The left hand side is sweet power on raise and lower but the right hand side only has power on raise do I need a VX drivers door relay ? cause that is the only difference between LHS and RHS that I can think of. I guess if it comes to it I will run my own relay but I would like to keep it factory.
ANY HELP would be great

P.S I have removed the back window switches and internals cause they were not working and blanked them off but I cant see how this matters as the LHS is OK

The rear switches have about 5 wires going to them and the rear windows won't work from the main switch block without the rear switches connected. Hence the extra wires I think. I think if you had the correct looms they would work.
I had the same problem when I bought my parts for the conversion, only I had a series 1 and received series 2 looms. So bought the right looms and now I have a spare set for a series 2 if you are interested. PM me if you are.

Hey, thanks again for your reply I have been thinking about this problem (nothing better to do tonight) I am sure its to do with the drivers door relay set up as the rear windows dont feature in my install, I have power at the drivers body/door loom plug on raise but not on lower - remember that the LHS is working OK.
I wonder if this is like a jappa set up ie when you push the button down hard the window goes all the way down (controlled by relay) is this how the Holden windows work ? as I say I have put in VT relays not VX thats all I can think of at the mo
Would love to get it sorted.

If you press the drivers window button briefly it goes down a bit with each press, if you press the button a bit longer (about 1 second) it goes all the way down without holding the button.

I wish,
no there is no power (voltmeter tested) on the downward command at the body/door loom connection, I have traced the signal from the window master switch to right up behind the dash its ok to there but without pulling the fuse box out I can not trace it any further .
I note that the wire changes from Green/black on the window master switch to green/orange somewhere behind the dash,at the body/door plug its green/orange I will pull out the fuse panel in the morning and see if I can suss out what is going on.
I have tried swapping the relay to see if that was at fault but no.
Some one posted that the conversion is straightfoward ???????????

I just bought a Gregory's manual tonight as i too am about to convert to power windows etc. It has a very concise electrical diagram. Got it from Supercheap, cost me $44.
Cheers, Daz.
