Hey guys, today i changed my voltage regulator on my Vx S2 sedan, Changed it over, screwed it in, sits correctly. I turned the car on and the battery light was on.....????? Checked the Voltage at the battery and it is 14.3, steady.
Anyone have any ideas why the batt light is on? When i turned the car on the headlights where out and the airbox sensor was off. Could this have caused it?
Cheers
Garrett
RUN41T: Real cars don't power the front wheels... they lift them
Hey Garrett
Isnt there 2 wiring looms to the alternator
1 is the actual power cable (charges the battery)
and 1 is the wire that tells the car that its making power.
The battery light only extinguishes if the alternator provides enough power to balance the light to 0v.
or at least thats how it used to do it in old cars.
but i cannot see why they would change this.
Check your connections and make sure your ground connection is good. You might have to take out your alternator again to make sure your carbon brushes are making good contact with the commutators. Did you clean the commutators whilst you had the regulators removed?
