sorry i know codes have been done to death can anyone tell me what this code means fault code 83 its a series 1 1999 calais

Code 83 is related to the transmission but I don't know what it means.

thanks for the reply didnt think it was the tranny fuel consumption has been high and idle a bit rough also the engine light came on couple of days ago thats what made me check the codes

Go to "The Pub" section of the forum and look for a thread entitled "Ask a Holden Technician" and ask Doctor Bob what code 83 means. He will know.
