remote start in S1 VT??

Hi every one a guy i work with bought a remote start alarm for his BA but ant get past fords smart lock, if i buy it of him an it be used on a VT. If so how do you get past the whole transponder in the key issue??

yeh its fairly easy to install m8, just need to get sum1 to reprogram ur key and it'll be all good, im guessing its a viper? if so which model

had mine done at autobarn, cause they were the reccomended installers, plus they had the viper warrenty

I had a code alarm with remote start in my old vr statesman and plan on using it on my VT. Basically I had to figure out what resistor was in the keyhead and wire it into the remote start. The other way was to turn the factory alarm and imobiliser off but I went for the resistor. Not sure if it will be the same in the vt but if worse comes to worse i will get another keyhead programed and wire the keyhead into the remote start.

just bypass the crappy factory immobilzer by having it deactivated permanently. you can do this by putting the circuit from the key head into the ignition barrel so it's always turning the immobilizer off - i really dont know the specifics as i didnt install it by myself but thats how its been done on my VS with a viper remote start.
my factory key is now hollow and doesnt controll anything anymore other than to turn the ignition on.

It's actually fairly straight forward on my alarm. The remote start is wired into my Code Alarm and you can wire a resistor or remote into the alarm so when you push the button to remote start is it takes the frequency from the remote or resistor and feeds it into the main computer thus making the car think the key is in the ignition. (hope you can understand that)

I wouldn't be too keen to wire up a remote to the car so you no longer need it to start it. If someone figures that one out then they just brake you ignition and start it (that is if they get inside). I'm not sure if other alarm systems allow you to override the factory alarm like mine does so I can't say that my method would work for you.
