Default SC V6 Conversion

Hi, i have to replace my motor shortly and i have this dream about dropping the Factory SC V6 in. I have a 98 VT Exec by the way. I have seen one on eBay for $2500 and it's been touted as a complete conversion for the stock V6, Computer, Loom, Gearbox etc. Now i have rang a few mechanics to see if they could fit such a beast and none of them really want to touch it? I was under the impression that these dropped straight in without much hassle.

How hard are they to fit, i wouldn't attempt such a job i don't think! Or am i just talking to the wrong people?

Cheers, Daz.

I think your talking to the wrong ppl. Not 100% on this but i would say it would drop straight in. After all its still the same size ecotec motor. Just stronger and with a charger. I mean you have ppl dropping in ls1's and others putting ecotecs into VN/VP so i don't see why you would have any trouble replacing a S/C V6 with a standard ecotec. I'm sure someone on here can confirm this.

I recommend calling a few more mechanics. Try some bigger workshops that do performance mods as well.

you would need to change the wiring computer , slightly different transmission and the diff ratio is changed aswell. im sure there is alot of other smaller things that would need to be changed aswell. its definately possible but know where as easy as just taking the motor out and putting another 1 in.
