How can I tell models of VT from the VIN number. Is there anyway to tell if an executive has been tarted up and sold as an SS, and how can I find out the original Paint colour and the engine numbers, is there some way to be able to chase this information up. I can figure it out with my Toranas and Monaros from the "70's but how do i figure out the model codes with the newer holdens.
I am buying another SS, the bloke that is selling the vehicle sounds a little sketchy. He has given me the Vin and Engine numbers and Expired Rego Number, however when I run engine number it comes up as being duplicate, and when I queried the car through Revs they reckon Purple, not bermuda Blue.
Seller reckon fault with Revs, I reckon could be mockup build, from repairable write off. No Manual with vehicle. What codes and other information could I gather or fellow members supply that will help me ID the vehicle model, colour/paint codes, trim and motor/gearbox combination from the VIN and Plate codes that should be attached to the vehicle, when I go to pick it up/or back out of sale?
I am not sure, and am now worried that the vehicle may be a mock up, or frauduent in some way. Any further help members can give me would be very helpful
