For the bolt you want an impact socket and a decent breaker bar, put the socket on the bolt and face the bar towards the ground on the passenger side of the car then give it a lil crank with the key and the starter motor does the work for you or use a rattle gun or power bar. Remember your engine turns clockwise so don't put the breaker bar in the wrong spot or it will flick up and break stuff.

As for the puller there are a couple of styles, most of them bolt on there is 3 holes in the balancer deep in side them there are threads they can be tricky to find. The other more expensive ones have 3 legs they clip straight into the balancer holes and you just turn the big bolt in the puller to remove the balancer.

P.S. all wayz replace the seal behind it while its off and it takes 5 mins to pull the fans out this will give heaps of extra room.

When using the puller, leave the pulley bolt in, have it undone about a 1/4 of the way and tighten the puller bolt. As the pulley comes off the shaft, loosen the puller and loosen the pulley bolt. Keep going until the pulley can be removed by hand. I only use the puller with the three legs.

By removing the balancer you will disturb the seal, its been in the car for 8 years now if origional and the rubber goes hard then they leak. If you do the seal put a bit of grease or oil in it so it doesn't go on dry.

Looking at the front of the engine, the harmonic balancer turns clockwise when running. You will need to turn the bolt anti clockwise as it is a normal righthand thread.
