Default the dreaded plastic door strips

where should I go to get these stuck back on? the small one on the drivers side has come off and the drivers door one has pretty much almost ripped off. I read that the black stuff holding them to the paint is pretty damn hard to clean off, and I dont have any glue or trust in my aligning skills I was thinking a crash repair joint? or maybe a regular auto place could do it easily enough?

i spoke to a few panel shops about it and they wouldnt take my black strips off and then work the glue off. They said they would rip them off hack the crap out of the glue then respray to doors and gaurds. So they said it would be $1300+ to get it done. You can have a go at it yourself with a caramel wheel and a fair few man hours though. I did one side of my car then i ended up getting it resprayed and leaving the strips off

Thanks for the info, I am going to keep the strips on, and possibly get them painted at some point. I actually just want to re-attach the front 2 as it looks crap now with the missing plastic and black blobs :P
maybe I should just ignore the pointless blobs that will be hidden anyway and put the fresh glue at the other points.. since if I do get them stripped off they will hack it up and respray it anyway.

So the question now becomes, what glue should I use for the blobs.. And how to clean off the double sided tape residue? OR where can I take it that can do it for me for cheap

whats on there itsnt actually a "glue" its a resine that it pretty much a slightly flexible cement. To get it of you need a caramel wheel ( about $15 from a paint product supplier, i got mine from a shop on George St, Norwood for 13 each) That goes into your drill and it spinds around slowly rubbing the cement away. That same shop will be able to supply you with the resine to stick them back on. If you have any problems finding a number for that place shoot me a pm and ill have a dig for you
