Default Man am I in trouble

Apart from spending too much time in the garage lavishing care attention and modifications upon the VX, a more recent problem has raised its ugly head.
The VX has a full clubsport kit painted and fitted by me including the rear boot spoiler ,our driveway is on a bit of a slope and when she who must be obeyed came home with the shopping the other day she opened the boot to get the stuff out and whamo down comes the boot lid on her head (its about now that the s**t hits the fan).
My question : I believe that the clubsport has gas struts to support the extra weight of the spolier can any one confirm this and post a picture so that I can fit one and thereby avoid the dog box in future.
    Cheers

Yeah the boot springs cant hold the weight of a spoiler specially over time. My VK does it, but our VT doesnt, ill check if it has a strut in it tomoro.

COMMODORE VT TO VX BOOT STRUTS BRAND NEW - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 18-Aug-08 13:50:02 AEST)

Give him a try, he has 3 different types, standard, spoiler, and wagon. He claims they are all the same length. So wagon ones owuld hold it up you would think. But normal spoiler ones should do the trick being new, its just yours will be worn.
Im going to grab a set and see if i can adapt them to the VK.

I've bought Gas Struts from this guy on Ebay for my Old VS when the original ones died.

    Gas Strut Guys

Did the job perfectly and are very easy to install. Just Make sure you get the ones rated to support the spoiler as well, the standard ones aren't strong enough to take the extra weight of the Spoiler.

If they are not listed, ask him, I'm sure he can get them.

I have a Clubbie kit too, and a few months back my boot struts stopped holding the weight of the boot. Got some of those Ebay struts and they work beautifully. Of course now my bonnet struts are about had it, a tiny bump and down comes the bonnet to say hi to your head. I think I made the young dude at the transmission joint crap himself when he was draining the transmission fluid and WHAM the bonnet comes down while he was under the car. At least the older guys and me got a laugh out of it, the young dudes face was priceless, probably thought the car was about to fall on him.
