i work for a panel shop and have had to disconnect the battery to do work when i reconnect it if there is no code in the car i just ring the dealer for that model speak to some one in spare parts if youre nice enough its just a mater of giving them the vin number over the phone and they can give you the code
yeh same here went into holden after i baught my first car and had dissconnected the battary, 5 mins later they gave me a bit of paper with the code, no charge
Take the head unit to Holden, VIN number and id, Then they will search the computer, To first see if that unit matches the car, Then if so they will hand over the number..
They usually only charge when it's a long search.. But they just sit on the PC it cant be that hard.
But if it doesn't match the car, Holden will not produce the code for it.

Is it a Eurovox?
Most stock VT Head Units are made by Eurovox, Holden won't be able to help you if it is.
Here's the Eurovox FAQ: Go Technologies: Eurovox FAQs
And here's the Security Code Request PDF: http://www.eurovox.com.au/downloads/...%20Request.pdf
I hope this helps.

Holdens will be able to plug their tech 2 into your car and find out the code. Happened with me when my car came back from the panel shop, the previous owner must have changed head units cause the code that came back from the vin number on my car we entered was wrong. I went on a saturday and the guy did it in 2 minutes, when I asked how much he said just go before my supervisor comes out so I paid nothing.
in sum commodores the stereo code for your stock stereo is the last 4 digits of your vin number so try that!!!!!![]()
It's all on PC, They can even tell you what options the car had from factory, They know everything, MY car was from NSW, But they knew everything down here, All is on computers.
